Default 25 and filing bankruptcy

So I filed Jan 14, 2010 and I just had my creditors meeting (Feb 22, 2010).... In that time my credit score went from 556 to 521. im not sure what is going to happen now. My lawyer said now we wait 2 months or so :-\ The trustee asked me to send him my 2009 tax returns. Im confused, scared, anxious.... just a bunch of things.

I guess my point for writing was to ask if anyone knows what this process is like and if it normally takes 2+ months. I have never made over 15k. Im currently a volunteer. I have no assets (except for my tv, fan, and car.... even tho the car is a total loss now).

Sorry to hear that.. I know sometimes bk is the only option.. at least now you will have a clean slate to work with. I have seen many people bring their credit up in just a couple of years. Try not to let it bring you down too much.

The link at the top has creditors in it that will usually approve you even with a bk. I would definitely hold off for a bit and let the bk process go into effect first..
I don't have first hand experience with this but there are some members here that do.....hopefully they will chime in.

Whatever you do..... do not look at this like it's the end of the road. You're young and have a long path ahead of you.. treat this as a lesson learned and build up from here. Start gathering info and reading on how to improve your credit after bk and I'm betting it won't take you too long to see a rise in your score again.

Take care.... good luck and stick around. You will learn a lot here.

If you had your 341 meeting and no problems,it's over just wait for the discharge.Nothing to be scared of,your court trips are over.Wait until the discharge and apply for a secured card or a bad credit type card.Helps to start your credit history.See if your credit union or bank will give you a small loan like $200 dollars. As time goes by your credit will improve!!Hang in it will pass, takes time.

I checked PACER and it says "awaiting discharge" I also found out the last day to dispute is 4/23 .....im not sure if that means by May I'll be discharge or if it takes longer. But I have some things to figure out til then.

1- I need to do this final credit counseling session.

2- I need to clean somethings off my credit report... DOES ANYONE KNOW IF.... you can clear off "charged off"/ "sold" debts since they are with another creditor?? and should I wait to do this or can i start removing things now? :o

3- I need to start the rebuilding process (i'd like to save some money while doing that so in case i'm ever without a job again I wont struggle sooo much)

4- Since like most people had car failure.... my 96 honda sadly failed on me last month 2 weeks before my 431 meeting.... I need to find a new car some how. Thinking about financing but Im not sure if I can do that right now.... but boy is it hard to get to work with no car and no family/friends around here. :crying::thumbdown::cursing:
