No one really knows if it works. I've just seen a lot of testimonials of people having better results when using handwritten vs. typed.
The purple/teal italic font is a tactic that why chat has used and recommended for years. CRAs use a reading/scanning system that can read printed material on a plain background. It's basically a sifting system........the letters that can be scanned and read by the computers will be answered automatically/electronically (by matching the info to what they have in their database provided by the CAs and OCs). The letters that cannot be scanned will be sent to a different department where a person has to open it up, read it and then decide which "number" your dispute falls under (not mine is a certain number, never late is a different number, etc). So the theory is.......it will give you a better chance if it's not answered electronically.

Some people don't think it works......others do. I honestly think that if it can give you better odds.......why not. I personally hand write all of my letters..........but I can totally understand people not wanting to (takes too much time, arthritis).......and this gives them an alternative.

While we're on the subject of disputing methods improving your chances.........another thing that people think really works is disputing the same TL for numerous reasons. Pretty much picking apart the way it's being reported and disputing several things on one TL. By doing that........it can make it confusing since they won't know which "number" to assign to the dispute..........and possibly make it easier to get a delete. I have not tried that one myself.........just read about people having success with it.

Can anyone tell me for sure if there is any way to delete a chapter 7 bk before the 7 years is up or the 10 years whichever applies?

I don't think anyone can tell you "for sure". I guess it can be done, but it is a very hard process and I really think a matter of luck. You'd need to start first by removing all items that were a part of b/k off the report first, inc. addresses, etc. and that will increase chances. My 7 years is almost up and I have yet to come close to getting it removed. It'll probably be on for 10 years!!

I got my bankruptcy removed from Equifax and TransUnion, WITHOUT getting some of the accounts that were included in the BK removed.

I would prefer to have them all removed, but my scores are over 700 and they will be falling off soon enough. I got like 40 accounts removed from each credit report, so I can't really complain.

Chane as I'm learning it's hard to have mine removed even though i think i have the grounds. They want more info like my court courts.I thought they used pacer and companies to get info from.I feel i shouldn't have to do their leg work, but after last night i might not see come off.:p

You shouldn't have to have the grounds. They have to show you proof that it belongs on your report, and they can't do that because the only source that can rightfully verify it (the courthouse) will not verify it...therefore, they must remove it.

Most of my accounts have fallen off my bankruptcy since the seven years has gone by since I filed. Chane, how did you get your bankruptcy removed? What reason did you use to dispute it? Or do you really need to give a specific reason? Thanks...

When you dispute for any reason now on a bk,they will send you a letter need more info, that's where I'm at now,so i have to decide if i want to go forward with it.A question for Chane since i disputed it don't they have to report it as disputed?

Default Hello to all

I am in the beginning stages of working on my girlfriends bankruptcy. I had her order her credit reports and we are waiting on the last one to come in the mail I also am having her opt out.

So what is my next step? Send a letter to the courthouse requesting how they verify information or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since I cant always be in the forum!

Thanks again

Default Hello again

As for myself I was informed that I have tax leans on my credit report but when I received the paper from the state and fed I paid them and have a letter proving this. I was told they would not go on my credit report if I paid them but there they are!!! What do I do about the tax liens on my report.

Thanks
