It's a shame you're having so much trouble. You should send another letter.......with another self addressed stamped envelope.

I think it would be a good idea to add something like....."I have been instructed by*insert name of CRA* to contact you regarding the reporting of public records."

Then at least they can't try sending you back to the CRAs again...

Sorry if I missed it, but how old is this BK?
Please keep in mind this doesn't always work......don't get me wrong, it's worth a shot....but BKs are difficult to get removed. Especially if they are fairly recent.
Thanks Trish. It's a bit of a pain, because I thought this would be the easiest part of the process. Oh well. :o The BK is over 7 years old, so it should be well aged like fine wine for removing. :D

Edit to add: In the first letter to them, I detailed exactly what I needed from them and why (the BK is reporting wrong and the CRA says they verified it with the BK Court (them)). I didn't send a self-addressed stamped envelope though, and heard nothing back. I get the feeling they just don't want to cooperate. We'll see how the 3rd attempt goes!

No, it has errors in it...which, of course, means little to the CRAs or the BK Court.

Well maybe that's another thing you could mention in your letter to the courts......along with what I posted earlier

Attn: Clerk of the Court

I have disputed a public record which has multiple inaccuracies. This item continues to be verified as correct and now I have been instructed by*insert name of CRA* to contact my local court.
Could you please tell me what your procedures are when verifying records with credit reporting agencies.

If you would respond using the self addressed stamped envelope I have enclosed, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Your name

Of course you can reword it if you want to......but something along those lines.

I hope it works for you.
Keep us posted!

Thanks, Trish. I'll try again. I said something very similar to what you mentioned in the initial letter to the BK Court, but did not include a SAS envelope. I will try again and let everyone know.

I have read on another forum that some BK Courts simply will not cooperate and give you a written statement of their policy. One would suspect they've been told not to do so from superiors. Perhaps via pressure from the CRAs/CC industry? I hope that's not the case with mine!

I must be in the Twilight Zone BK Court District or something.

I sent the BK Court a letter, with SAS envelope for reply. In the letter, my THIRD, I specifically asked them if original, hard copies of BK records and filings can be verified via mail, email or a phone call, or does this have to be done in person.

The response? A form letter for document filings, with a bit of typing on the bottom asking some questions about my BK. Oi...I think I give up. Anyone want to send me their letter if you're in So Cal, so I can use it? :o

Are you sending this to the clerks office? And would you mind showing us exactly the letter that you sent them? (just leave out personal info)

Quick question on this...

Should I dispute the BK first or the TL or does it matter?

If you are wanting to dispute two items, you can dispute them both at the same time if you wish. I would do no more than four in one dispute letter.

A request please, if someone can help me:

I've written the BK Court 3x in the past 6 months, and never received a proper response that I could use to send to the CRAs, showing the CRAs did not contact the Courts regarding my BK disputes. I know some of you have received letters back from the BK Court upon request, with their statement regarding CRA dispute responses. Im going down to the Federal BK Court (hopefully) this coming week to talk to them and try to get a written statement showing they do not verify BK info via email, phone, letter, etc...from the CRAs. Would someone be so kind as to post, or private message me, the response letter they received from the BK Courts?

I intend to take that letter's contents to the Court, show them what their "sister/brother" Federal BK Court has written to a consumer in response to the same request, and ask for the same thing from them in writing. Since I've tried 3x without success to get something in writing via SAS mailings, I now realize I must go there personally, and hold their hand and walk them through the scary path of what I am requesting. Spoon feeding may be deemed a necessity as well.

If you could please post a BK Court response that works for what I'm seeking, private message me the info, or send it to my personal email (which I'll give you via private message request), it will help immensely in talking to them. I truly believe that, otherwise, I'll just be spinning my wheels in trying to show the Court worker what I'm requesting, and getting them to agree to supply it. Thank you SO MUCH!
