I agree with Trish.
Common knowledge in today's society says 7 years for credit accounts and 10 years for CS and BK, however what people don't know is that it's actually 7/10 years from the date of last activity. So, if an account is opened in 1980 and you made your last payment in 2000, then it should fall off in 2007/2010.
I will tell you a little secret...
Most companies (including agencies that hold public records) have time limits on how long they keep account holder records on file before it is purged from their system. At that point, if you dispute the item (whether you are paying for it or not) it will have to be deleted because they will not be able to provide the CRA's with proof of your account.
So..with it being 22 years old, I would absolutely dispute this as "Not mine."
