Hmm.....I guess it would come down to if you are able or can afford to pay off these judgments.

Since they can garnish your wages (assuming that's allow in your state) you should try to make payment arrangements with them. If you let each company know that you have other judgments you are having to pay on along with your current living expenses and bills, they may not expect the maximum pmt.

Usually if you contact them, they will want a breakdown of your household wages and budget to see how much you can afford. You may be able to talk them all down to a reasonable amount. You can always try this first.....and also you may want to let them know you are considering BK but want to see if there is some way to avoid that first.

In the meantime, just so you know what you're up against.....you might want to contact a BK atty and discuss your situation. He may be able to give you some sound advice and tell you if BK would benefit you.

It's a very hard decision to make but sometimes it's what you have to do to survive. You just really need to weigh out your options and see what will work best for you and your wife.
