Okay after a long process here is what happened:
(1) I did a 1-2 Punch by Sending a DV lettter to AFNI (CA) and they send me a letter showing the balance of my last bill in 1/2005. The balance is $126.00 and a month ago they sent me a letter stating that they wanted to settle for $70.00. Now the OC is Verizon (Home Service) and from reading several threads the SOL for goods of service is 4 years. I am not trying to settle, I am looking towards sending them a PFD letter etc.
(2) I did a 1-2 punch by sending a DV to Cavalry Portfolio Svc (CA) & LVNV Funding (CA) and they haven't sent me a reply to my request in over 35+ days. I sent a letter to the CA's stating that no knowledge of the account. Nevertheless, the CA's send me a update showing that the account has been "updated". Updated meaning "A change was made to the item; review this report to viw the change. If ownership of the item was disputed, then it was verified asa it belonging to you". What step should I take next?
