Ive been getting letters/calls from a CA about a medical bill originally $150 now $195 w/ fees. I kept ignoring them b/c I coudnt remember why I had that bill or even if it was mine. I sent out dispute letters for other things on my CR first and was waiting for reponses before I researched this one. Anyway, it hit me like a ton of bricks today that I was changing jobs then but I always had insurance. I found the original invoice where it shows I paid $10 the day of the visit (co-pay) & the balance was $150. It also says the date of service was 3/2/08. I called the insurance company I had then for the dates my ins was actvie & they gave me a termination date of 4/1/08. My question is who do I contact about this, first? CA or OR? I dont want to screw things up talking to someone I shouldnt have. This account is the only newer account on my CR. The rest are before 2002. Its been on my CR for almost a yr., Should I ask them to run it thru the ins again? Or just a
deletion letter? Has anyone ever had this happen? Thank you
You need to have the doc bill the ins co again.I wouldn't talk to the ca,they just are trying to collect for the doc.Or take your info to the doc and show him you were ins.
