Well, you can try calling them......but it's very unlikely they will tell you how or who they verified it with. I tried that once before and the CSR acted like an idiot even after I told him it was my right to know under the FCRA. They always have canned answers.......they will probably just tell you their procedures.
You can also try sending them a
PR (procedural request) letter.......but most of the time you get the same canned answer. :rolleyes: It is a PITA and about as fun as pulling teeth.
The other thing you can do (and will probably get the best results).....is contact the creditor. They have more power to "fix" things with the CRA than we do. So you can either try calling them or you can send them a
debt verification letter. Be sure to send it CMRR because you want to be able to track it and see who signed for it.
