Why don't you contact them in a pleasant manner and see if you can get it removed from your report,tell them if you knew you owed $0.54 you would have paid as soon as you knew.If they don't i would contact the BBB and see if they can help you resolve this.Also let them know your sorry they had to cancel their Christmas party because of that 0.54 cents they needed to fund their party:D lol
