Definitely send CMRRR. You need to be able to track it and have proof that they received it......and with CMRRR you even have a signature so you know who signed for it/received it.
For a CA, I would do a cashier's check......that way you're not giving them your banking info. Then also if they send it back, you should be able to get your money back (with a M.O. I'm not so sure).
For an OC, it's ok to send a personal check.
