No one really knows if it works. I've just seen a lot of testimonials of people having better results when using handwritten vs. typed.
The purple/teal italic font is a tactic that why chat has used and recommended for years. CRAs use a reading/scanning system that can read printed material on a plain background. It's basically a sifting system........the letters that can be scanned and read by the computers will be answered automatically/electronically (by matching the info to what they have in their database provided by the CAs and OCs). The letters that cannot be scanned will be sent to a different department where a person has to open it up, read it and then decide which "number" your dispute falls under (not mine is a certain number, never late is a different number, etc). So the theory is.......it will give you a better chance if it's not answered electronically.

Some people don't think it works......others do. I honestly think that if it can give you better odds.......why not. I personally hand write all of my letters..........but I can totally understand people not wanting to (takes too much time, arthritis).......and this gives them an alternative.

While we're on the subject of disputing methods improving your chances.........another thing that people think really works is disputing the same TL for numerous reasons. Pretty much picking apart the way it's being reported and disputing several things on one TL. By doing that........it can make it confusing since they won't know which "number" to assign to the dispute..........and possibly make it easier to get a delete. I have not tried that one myself.........just read about people having success with it.
