willdecided is on a distinguished road
Default This is only the beginning

Alright, I wanted to start my own thread on the journey I am taking to repair my credit reports.

I found this forum towards the end of November because I was searching for a way to remove the bankruptcy from all 3 of my credit reports. I know there are nay-sayers on here that say it can't be done, but Chane says there are ways to have it removed, so I thought I would give it a try.

My credit reports aren't bad, other then some old addresses and the bankruptcy that was filed and discharged back in 2001.

Here is the progress I have made so far.

On December 26th, I sent 2 dispute letters: 1 to Transunion and 1 to Experian asking them to remove some old addresses. There were a few P.O Boxes on both reports that were not mine and an old address on there that I haven't lived at in years, so I disputed them.

On January 5th, I received an updated credit report from Transunion and all of the disputed addresses had been removed. I am still waiting to hear back from Experian.

Last week, I tried pulling my credit report from Equafax, but I had problems, so they are sending me one. As soon as I receive that, I will dispute any addresses that do not belong on there.

Since I succeeded with the address disputes with Transunion, I wrote up my dispute letter to have my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy removed. I used a letter I found on this site that Chane used as an example; added my information; included copies of my identification and mailed it out on Tuesday January 6th. If all goes well, I will receive a new credit report from Transunion and hopefully (I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one), my chapter 7 will be removed.

I have learned a lot from this site and I hope that everything will pan out for me in the end.

Wish me luck and I will make updates as they happen.
